LOTTE LEHMANN WOCHE (27 JULY - 4 AUGUST 2012)
The Lotte Lehmann Week takes place from 27 July to 4 August 2012 in Perleberg, the birthplace of the great German soprano Lotte Lehmann. The Lotte Lehmann Woche is a one-week workshop for opera and art song that welcomes undergraduate and graduate students as well as music teachers and enthusiastic hobby singers, all sharing a passion for classical singing and music theatre. The beautiful old centre of Perleberg provides a peaceful and concentrated atmosphere for participants to immerse themselves in their work. The concerts of the Lotte Lehmann Week attract an ever-growing and enthusiastic audience. And an additional thrill is provided by the overlap with the last days of the international LOTTE LEHMANN ACADEMY for young professional opera singers.
The LOTTE LEHMANN WEEK offers a daily program of 2-4 hours that includes singing lessons, body work, choral singing and stagecraft. Participants will present the results of their work in two concerts.
Singers who are interested in a more intensive program and masterclasses with world class professionals should look at the courses of the LOTTE LEHMANN ACADEMY. Besides the full four-week program, a limited number of slots for modules of one- or two- weeks are available.
The LOTTE LEHMANN WEEK provides excellent opportunities for
Undergraduates - to strengthen their grasp of the fundamentals of vocal technique and establish new and valuable perspectives on their professional options in music and singing. They can also prepare repertoire for exams.
Singing teachers - to broaden their repertoire knowledge and finesse their technique and pedagogical skills in an inspiring atmosphere with internationally acclaimed opera singers and ambitious colleagues.
Enthusiastic hobby singers - to immerse themselves in the world of classical singing and art song and to learn intensively about the fundamentals of vocal technique and interpretation.
This diverse mix of participants and its excellent faculty as well as the beautiful medieval centre of Perleberg combined make for the unique experience and the success of the LOTTE LEHMANN WOCHE.
